Winter is a beautiful time of year.

However, the cold can cause flareups in people with aches, pains, arthritis, and more.

To help you out, we’ve compiled a list of some of the best herbal remedies for aches, pains, and arthritis. Whether you struggle with the occasional flare-up, have daily achiness, or are simply looking to support your long-term joint health, we’ve got you covered in today’s piece.

Turmeric & Ginger for Anti-Inflammatory and Joint Function

Turmeric and ginger are two widely used herbal remedies for aches and pains, and stiff joints. Both herbs have studied properties that have been shown to relieve pain and inflammation.

One study found that ginger was especially effective for those with rheumatic disorders. Patients administered ginger reported relief in pain and related symptoms.

Another study researching turmeric for pain relief in patients with osteoarthritis found that turmeric improved joint function when measuring morning stiffness and movement ability. It also reduced the need for pain medication to manage osteoarthritis in some of the study’s participants.

Here are some of our recommendations for ginger and turmeric products to help ease achiness and inflammation:

  • Infla-Eaz Capsules: We formulated our Infla-Eaz Capsules to help support a healthy inflammatory response, which makes it an excellent choice for individuals with arthritis, joint pain, soreness, or inflammation.* These capsules contain ginger, feverfew, turmeric, and Boswellia to give you a well-rounded formula to support reduced inflammation.
  • Hot & Cold Balm: If you prefer applying a balm, try out hot & cold balm, which can be rubbed onto affected areas for pain relief. We typically recommend this for individuals with arthritis, rheumatism, menstrual cramps, and joint and muscle pain. *
  • From Head to Toe Tea: This turmeric-rich, caffeine-free tea helps support and reduce pain from achy joints and bones. We’ve also added Burdock root to this blend, another joint reliever with anti-inflammatory properties. We recommend this tea to individuals who are stiff or achy. It’s not only supportive but has a delicious earthy, citrus taste!*
  • Turmeric Capsules: Turmeric is known for being an antioxidant and having anti-inflammatory properties. These capsules are a supportive choice for someone looking for support for arthritis or other inflammatory conditions. We also have our Turmeric Extract if you prefer an extract, which can be taken as a dietary supplement when added to water.*

White Willow for Inflammation and Pain Relief

White Willow has been traditionally used for its analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory properties. Recent studies have shown that individuals with chronic low back pain, joint pain, and osteoarthritis may benefit from using willow bark extract to relieve pain. Its also commonly used to help sports performance!

Here are some of our most popular white willow products:

  • White Willow Capsules: Our white willow capsules are commonly used for their natural “aspirin-like” effects. White willow contains salicin, an aspirin-like chemical that helps with pain relief from back pain, headaches, arthritis, and more. It can also help reduce intestinal spasms and fever.*
  • Joyful Muscle Tea: This delicious tea is blended with many supportive herbs, including astragalus and eleuthero, which can help with immune support, ginger and rosemary, which provide antioxidant properties, white willow for support for pain relief and anti-inflammatory, and oat straw and St. John’s worst for neve tissue building. This powerhouse tea is amazing hot and can be a fantastic way to promote less inflammation and pain in the body daily.*
  • Joyful Muscle Extract: This extract is similar to our Joyful Muscle Tea in makeup. Herbalists have traditionally used the herbs in this formula for Fibromyalgia and other nervous system conditions. Simply add this extract to a small amount of water three to four times daily.*
  • Harmony For Your Head Tea: If you struggle with pounding headaches and tension, we recommend this mellow rooibos tea made from refreshing spearmint and lavender and fragrant lemon and rose. This tea is caffeine-free and may help to soothe tension and head pain. We recommend drinking this tea hot!*

Lavender for Aches, Pains, and Migraines

Lavender is a soothing, relaxing smell that many of us enjoy, but it’s also an excellent choice for supporting your body and mind if you have aches and pains. For example, one study found that participants with osteoarthritis in their knees who used lavender essential oil for an aromatherapy massage had reduced pain

Migraines and headaches may be more common for some individuals with aches and pains or arthritis. We often recommend lavender for headaches or migraines due to its calming, soothing properties. One study with 129 headache-suffering participants found that 92 responded positively to inhaling lavender essential oils. During this study, inhaling lavender essential oil for around 15 minutes was reported to reduce headache severity significantly.
