Recipe of the Week - Vegan Black Bean Burgers

Gluten-Free, Grain-Free, Vegetarian, Vegan, High Protein
This easy to make black bean burger recipe is incredibly tasty, filling and amazing!  My biggest gripe about black bean burgers is that they don't stay together - half of your burger is on the plate in pieces before you even get to dig in!  I've remedied that issue without adding any grains and they are still mouth watering!  Black beans are incredibly healthy for you - so as long as you're only using a little bit of oil to cook these, you wont have to worry about excessive amounts of fat.

Vegan Black Bean Burgers

1 can Organic Black Beans, well rinsed and drained
1/2 large onion (or 1 small onion), diced
5 tablespoons Almond Meal
2 tablespoons Potato Starch
2 tablespoons Tapioca Starch
1 teaspoon Herb Stop's Garlic Granules
1 teaspoon Herb Stop's Onion Granules
1/2 teaspoon Herb Stop's Applewood Smoked Salt
1/4 teaspoon Herb Stop's Hungarian Paprika
1/4 teaspoon Herb Stop's Bar-B-Quick Seasoning

Sauté onion in a little olive oil until translucent (limp) and set aside.  In a medium bowl, add all the ingredients except the black beans and onion and mix very well.  Add black beans to dry mixture and mash until near smooth.  Add sauteed onion and mix well until everything is well blended.   Separate mixture into 6 equal parts.  Form into patties about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick.  Cook at medium heat on a well oiled pan until patties are firm - approximately 5-7 minutes on each side.  ENJOY!

Happy Eating!
