The June AromaBox is here! It’s time for sunshine and bright, uplifting scents.

Our June AromaBox features Petitgrain Essential Oil, Lemon Essential Oil, Melissa Essential Oil, and our new roll-on, Summer Daze. These scents embody summer's upbeat, relaxed feelings and help support a more optimistic, calm mood so you can enjoy summer to the fullest.

Petitgrain Essential Oil

Petitgrain Essential Oil is extracted from the twigs and leaves of citrus plants. Herbalists have traditionally used petitgrain to minimize skin blemishes and reduce stress and anxiety.

This lovely scent is citrusy, fresh, light, and dry, with slight floral notes. Perfect for putting a little pep in your step as you go about your busy day!

Due to its uplifting, fresh scent, Petitgrain Essential Oil is an excellent choice for supporting yourself emotionally when you’re feeling vulnerable, anxious, or fragile. It promotes self-confidence, joy, strength, and relaxation - all wonderful feelings we need more of!

Here are a few ways you can incorporate Petitgrain Essential Oil into your daily routine or as needed for an emotional boost:

  • Apply as an uplifting perfume. Many love Petitgrain Essential Oil’s aroma for a quick pick-me-up. Whether in the morning or as an afternoon boost, apply Petitgrain Essential Oil to your pulse points and neck, or dab it under your nose to keep this cheerful scent with you throughout the day. Always add essential oils to a carrier oil, salve, balm, or lotion before applying.
  • Use as a food flavoring. Our Petitgrain Essential Oil is safe for food and flavor use. With its lovely citrusy scent and flavor, this essential oil can add intense flavor and aroma to chocolates, baked goods, soups, marinades, candies, and much more. The combination of citrus with chocolate is especially delicious!
  • Pamper your skin. Petitgrain has been traditionally used for oily skin and skin blemishes. If you have oily skin or struggle with breakouts, consider adding this to a skin-safe, lightweight carrier oil and gently massage it into the skin. You can also make a fabulous, relaxing massage oil with petitgrain. Mix with your favorite massage oil or coconut oil to create a hydrating, soothing treat for the skin. Always complete a patch test first to ensure your skin and the product agree with each other.
  • Combine with other essential oils. One of the best parts about using essential oils is combining them with different complementary scents. Our favorites for Petitgrain Essential Oil include Cedarwood, Clove, Frankincense, Jasmine, Marjoram, Neroli, Orange, Patchouli, Rosemary, and Ylang Ylang.

Lemon Essential Oil

Lemon Essential Oil is a hugely popular essential oil with a citrusy, fresh, and clean scent that many find relaxing and slightly stimulating. Herbalists traditionally use this essential oil as an anti-viral, antibacterial, and anti-oxidant

You can even use this essential oil in cleaning products - a perfect scent for summer!

Here are a few of our favorite ways to use Lemon Essential Oil to support yourself:

  • Use in a diffuser. Lemon Essential Oil has an uplifting and clean scent many love adding to their diffuser. You can also diffuse this essential oil to promote greater mental clarity and reduced anxiety or depressive feelings, which herbalists have been doing for many years because of lemon’s reported soothing properties.
  • Create natural cleaning products. Lemon Essential Oil has natural anti-viral and antibacterial properties that lend nicely to making DIY natural cleaning products. Try creating a homemade soft scrub product by combining three tablespoons of unscented liquid Castile soap and one cup of baking soda to form a paste. Then, add around 15 drops of Lemon Essential Oil for an amazing, refreshing scent, and those added anti-viral and antibacterial properties. Many other homemade cleaning products can benefit from Lemon Essential Oil too.
  • Inhale when nauseous. Studies have shown that Lemon Essential Oil effectively reduces nausea, vomiting, and retch intensity in pregnant women experiencing morning sickness. Whether you’re experiencing morning sickness or general nausea, herbalists have used Lemon Essential Oil in aromatherapy to encourage better digestion and less stomach upset for many years.
  • Mix with other essential oils. Lemon Essential Oil blends beautifully with just about any essential oil as it lifts and freshens scent profiles. We love combining Lemon Essential Oil with Bergamot, Lime, and Orange to create lovely, fragrant blends for baths, lotions, salves, your diffuser, and more.

Melissa Essential Oil

Melissa Essential Oil, also known as Lemon Balm, has a lemony, fresh, grassy scent that many find refreshing and soothing. This essential oil is commonly used for relaxation, and many report good results when using Melissa Essential Oil to soothe insomnia, hysteria, irritability, anger, or the nervous system.

Traditionally, it has been used for its impressive anti-viral properties, which may help the body fight back against cold sores, colds, and coughs. Melissa Essential Oil may also have added benefits for women as it helps support a regular menstrual cycle.

Here are a few ideas for how to use Melissa Essential Oil to support your mind and body:

  • Diffuse throughout the day. Melissa Essential Oil is a universal essential oil that is both calming and uplifting, so regardless of the time of day, it’s a favorite among many to energize the soul and support reduced stress, insomnia, or tension.
  • Add to a hot bath. Soothe your body physically and mentally with a hot bath with added drops of Melissa Essential Oil and your favorite Epsom bath salts to ease aches and inflammation.
  • Combine with other essential oils. Our favorite essential oils to blend with Melissa Essential Oil include Frankincense, Geranium, Neroli, Petitgrain, and Roman Chamomile.

Summer Daze Roll-On

Our new Summer Daze Roll-On includes beautiful summery nutmeg, neroli, and geranium. This lovely combination is both warm and spicy and floral and sweet, making it the perfect balanced scent to take with you on a bustling summer day.

Apply this to your neck, pulse points, or collarbones, or diffuse it throughout your home to enjoy this summery scent all day and support an emotionally balanced, cheerful mood.

We hope you enjoy the amazing essential oils in this month’s AromaBox as much as we do!

Happy June!
